Hello everyone!
I thought it would be a good idea to just recap on a few things from the past couple of newsletters and with a few new things to add to ensure everyone knows what is happening over the last 4 weeks! There is so much to remember at this time of year!
Week commencing Monday 22nd June
Sports Week! It would be great if the children can come in some sporty wear ready for action! In and amongst lots of large physical play…..
Tuesday 23rd June
We have a visit from Jemima’s Dad who as I understand is a fantastic tennis player and is part of Ilkley Tennis Club! He will be giving us some tennis coaching sessions first thing in the morning.
Wednesday 24th June
Stay and Play session for Addingham Primary school starters
1.30-2.30
Just like the other Stay and Play session a few weeks ago- any children attending on a Wednesday afternoon can be taken through to school by us and brought back during our preschool session.
Of course- if you prefer as a parent to take them and pick them up yourselves- that is fine
Thursday 25th June
We have a visit organised for a couple of cricketers from Addingham Cricket Club to come and give us some cricket coaching!
Friday 26th June
10KBike Challenge! 2-3pm!
This actually is 200 laps of the large playground (we have measured it!) and we are absolutely sure they can do it between them. It’s been done a couple of years ago and no reason why it can’t happen again!
Hopefully you have all picked up a sponsor form. Please help us to raise as much funds as possible from this fun challenge. This will help us to fund all the lovely activities we have been and will be doing this term. Forms can be returned at any time - thank you.
Whilst we have some bikes and scooters, there aren’t enough for everyone. So- if your child would like to bring their bike or scooter that would be good.
All the children here on Friday afternoon will take part. Any child not normally with us on a Friday afternoon is very welcome to join us at 2pm with a parent. Any parents, family and friends are also very welcome to come along during the event to watch and cheer them along!
Week commencing Monday 29th June
Our topic is Holidays
Lots of holiday activities including a “French Day” on Wednesday 1stJuly.
Our staff member Mrs Hatch who will be known as Madam Hatch for the day is coming in to give us a French lesson, as we will also enjoy some French themed activities and a French style snack too.
If the children could come dressed in some red, white or blue that would be fab!
Week commencing 6th July
This is our week learning about our Community which will include the preparations for the Gala on the Saturday 11th!
We will also be out and about exploring our lovely local community.
Thursday 9th July
For our children who will be starting reception-we have a luncheon date with school. We will be going through to the school dining room as part of our transition programme. We will see how we line up for lunch, picking up a tray, meeting the lunch supervisors, getting served with our lunch, carrying the lunch on the tray, (!) sitting down at the table and how to clear away afterwards.
Our younger children will remain in preschool still require a packed lunch.
Unless you notify me differently- we will take all the older children through- so no packed lunch needed that day. We will also advise the kitchen staff of any dietary needs and preferences. It will be a pizza and chips day so I am sure that will go down well. The cost of the lunch is£2.35. This can be in cash to us or a direct payment using the usual bank account details.

Last week- so anything could happen!
What I do know though is on our last day- we have mentioned before that we request that our younger children are picked up at11.45 please (they will not have had any lunch). This then allows us to continue with our older children with a party.
School leavers Party 12-2pm
Once the younger children have been picked up- we will have a party lunch (so- no packed lunches needed).
We have then booked a party entertainer which will be great fun!
There is no cost for the party.
Any children leaving us for school who do not normally attend a Friday are welcome to join us at 12.
All children to be picked up at 2pm please
Pebbles/stones
Please could be on the lookout for a nice stone/pebble that your child could decorate during the week we looks at holidays. We will be placing them around the village the following week when we go out on some walks.
Lunchboxes
A reminder to ensure all grapes are cut up at least once length ways. Also- cherry tomatoes and other similar fruits arechopped in half too please as if eaten whole- also impose a choking hazard.
